Defend democracy from traitorous Republicans

139 House Republicans attempted to subvert our democracy by voting to disenfranchise millions of voters in Arizona and Pennsylvania, and by pushing conspiracy theories that encouraged right-wing militants to break into the U.S. Capitol, leading to the deaths of five people. We must unseat those who seek to dismantle democracy and replace them with representatives who will strengthen and defend a Democratic House majority.

Donate to Swing Left’s Defend Democracy Fund now. 100% of donations will go to the Democratic nominees running in the most competitive races to defeat these traitors to our democracy.

Defeating threats to our democracy requires a strategic approach:

Despite the betrayal of their oaths of office, we know that not all 139 House Representatives who voted to overturn the will of the people will face a competitive race for reelection. Particularly with redistricting coming up in 2021, the electoral landscape can be difficult to navigate if you want to figure out where you can make a difference. Therefore, we have specifically designed this fund so that your donation will go only to those races that are competitive in 2022 and where the incumbent Republican voted to subvert democracy.

As we have learned from the last four years of campaigning against Republican incumbents, it is absolutely critical that we support Democratic candidates as early as possible. That’s why Swing Left will get your donation to those candidates in competitive races as soon as there is an official Democratic nominee so that we can provide their campaigns with the resources they need, when they need it.

Where does the money go and when will it get to the candidates?

  • 100% of donations to the fund will go to Democratic candidates running against Republicans who voted to invalidate the results in Arizona and Pennsylvania.
  • On March 31, 2022, donations will be allocated equally among Democratic challengers running against those traitorous Republicans, who are in “competitive”1 races.
  • For those districts where there is already a Democratic nominee, Swing Left will transfer donations to their campaigns immediately after March 31, 2022.
  • For those districts where there is not yet a Democratic nominee, Swing Left will transfer donations immediately after a Democratic nominee is declared.

1 To define “competitive,” we must rely on a third party to make that determination. “Competitive” in this context includes any race that is listed as “Lean Democratic,” “Lean Republican,” or “Toss-Up'' by the elections experts at Cook Political Report.
